The Peabody Companies (www.peabodyproperties.com), a group of property management and real estate firms, recently presented Derek Frazier, director of information technology, and Whitney Pulsifer, senior director of strategic initiatives, with the Edward A. Fish Achievement Award during its 2022 annual business meeting at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
The highest coveted company honor, the Edward A. Fish Achievement Award is named for founder Ed Fish, who launched Peabody Properties in 1976 and passed away in 2010. The award recognizes individuals for embodying the Peabody mission, modeling excellence, and performing in a manner that consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty.
Frazier and Pulsifer were lauded for working as a cohesive team and spending countless hours safeguarding important information from corruption, compromise, or loss. This consistent effort included educating the Peabody team about phishing or encryption, training members of staff on multi-factor authentication, and working with third parties to carry out regular security audits.
Frazier, a resident of Brockton, was selected for the honor by company principals based on his excellent work performance, enhancing the efficiency and coordination of the company’s computer systems, and for his consistent ability to lead by example. Frazier joined the Peabody Companies in 2013 as an MIS administrator, advanced to MIS manager in 2018, and was recently promoted to director of IT.
Pulsifer, a resident of Norwell who joined the Peabody Companies in 2015, was selected for the honor by company principals for contributing to the firm’s overall success by developing effective corporate strategies, creating proactive business planning models, and overseeing the development and implementation of key projects that support the effective operation of the firm.
“It’s not often that the Edward A. Fish Achievement Award is presented to two employees, but this year we had no choice but to make an exception, considering the contributions both Derek and Whitney have made to the company and the communities we serve,” said Melissa Fish-Crane, principal and CEO of the Peabody Companies. “Championing over a quarter of a million dollars in IT infrastructure investments over the past two years, Derek and Whitney have helped us navigate ransomware attacks and restore operations to full function. From working with ransomware negotiators and managed service providers, our legal team and cyber insurance carriers serve as technical experts and as the main points of contact between our company and relevant data protection authorities.
“This dynamic duo has spent limitless hours protecting the organization from internal and external threats. They are Peabody’s main line of defense in all things technical and their contributions are invaluable,” continued Fish-Crane.
Frazier and Pulsifer were two of several achievement award recipients honored during the 2022 employee recognition award ceremony, which takes place annually to appreciate and celebrate employee excellence.
