March 25, 2024, Falmouth, MA – The Falmouth Chamber of Commerce will hold its 110th Annual Meeting and Award Dinner on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at The Sea Crest Beach Hotel, 350 Quaker Road, North Falmouth. The event is sponsored by Community Partner, Cape Cod 5.
The 2024 Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award will be bestowed upon Falmouth resident and community advocate Troy B.G. Clarkson. The Board of Directors of the Falmouth Chamber of Commerce feel that Troy’s decades of dedication to the Falmouth community makes him the outstanding choice for Citizen of the Year.
“After careful consideration of the many nominations we received, Troy was the unanimous choice of our Board of Directors,” commented Falmouth Chamber President Michael Kasparian. “Troy is known throughout Falmouth because of the wide variety of work he voluntarily does for the community. His work over the years has included volunteer and leadership positions in The Falmouth Housing Trust, Falmouth Commodores, Falmouth Education Foundation, Falmouth Road Race, The Falmouth Walk, The Woods Hole Theater Company, Falmouth Cares, Belonging To Each Other and of course the Carousel of Light. He has also supported projects & initiatives for the Falmouth Village Association, The Rotary Club of Falmouth, Falmouth Museums on the Green, Highfield Hall, FCTV, as well as others.”
In addition to supporting these organizations, Troy has positively touched the lives of hundreds of people as a mentor and coach. As a supporter of those in recovery, Troy speaks openly and honestly of his own past personal struggles and is a shining example of someone who has been able to overcome addiction and give back to his community while building a successful personal and professional life. He is committed to helping those in need and speaks as an advocate for those who are unable to do so for themselves.
Troy is also known for his column in the Falmouth Enterprise through which he promotes collaboration by a call for understanding and cooperation. His willingness to write about critical issues that affect everyone in Falmouth with the ability to bring people together is a gift that he readily shares with his neighbors.
