BayCoast Bank is stepping up to support a group of local leaders, striving to bring positive change to local communities with a grant to Leadership SouthCoast as it helps engage, educate and empower diverse and motivated individuals to become dynamic leaders.
“BayCoast Bank is offering a total of $75,000 over the next three years to ensure that our core annual leadership program continues to offer critical learning experiences to seasoned and upcoming leaders in our area,” said Donna Criscuolo, Executive Director for Leadership SouthCoast. “We are so delighted and thankful to BayCoast Bank for their support.”
Through the grant, Leadership SouthCoast will be able to continue its overall vision to be the resource for inclusive and empowered professional development in Southeastern Massachusetts.
The funding will assist Leadership SouthCoast with the operational support it needs to relaunch its core program for fall 2022. It will also help develop other key areas, including professional development workshops.
New initiatives will also be possible, including the creation of a youth leadership program for high school sophomores and juniors, encouraging long-term community engagement in their hometowns. A civics program is also in the works, with the goal of empowering local citizens to discover and use their voices to actively improve the quality of life in our local neighborhoods.
“BayCoast Bank recognizes the need to be actively involved in areas where we live and work,” notes Julie Gagliardi, First Vice President of Corporate Giving and Community Relations. “It is our privilege to support Leadership SouthCoast as they help cultivate thoughtful leaders who not only identify community challenges but work collectively as a team to find solutions.”
Leadership SouthCoast was founded in 2004 by a group of local business and civic leaders who recognized a significant link between effective leadership and a community’s vibrancy. Its annual Leadership program selects a diverse network of leaders representing non-profit, private, and public sectors, to participate in a highly engaging ten-month development experience. The goal is to help motivated individuals strengthen their leadership skills, develop new partnerships, and share their resources to improve our region.
“BayCoast Bank proves time and time again its commitment to the South Coast,” said Criscuolo. “They believe in our vision and how our work will impact the region. I am looking forward to the future of Leadership SouthCoast, and with BayCoast Bank’s generous support, that future is very bright.”
