WAREHAM, MA, ISSUED FEBRUARY 1…Precision Design Engineering Corporation (https://precisiondesignengineering.com), a technology-enabled CNC (computer numerical control) manufacturing facility in Wareham which provides manufacturing services for industries including the military, marine and medical industries, was featured recently on a “Radio Entrepreneurs” broadcast.

Radio Entrepreneurs (https://radioentrepreneurs.com) shares the stories of entrepreneurs, business owners, and executives in the interest of giving more exposure to innovative and fast-moving companies while creating a knowledge pool for the enrichment of the entrepreneurial community around the world.

The show shares daily stories of entrepreneurship from a wide variety of industries. The conversation is their story: the story of who they are and how they became an entrepreneur. With more than 7,000 interviews completed, the shows can be heard on their website as well as on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or Google Play and across a wide range of additional social media platforms, including You Tube. Jeffrey Davis, CEO of Mage USA and a founder of Radio Entrepreneurs, interviewed Precision Design Engineering (PDE) CEO Ron Gerace on a wide range of topics, including his view of the role that automation and robotics will play in the manufacturing industry in the future. Ron Gerace, CEO, founded the company in 2019 with the acquisition and merger of two longtime successful engineering firms under the PDE umbrella: Design Engineering Associates (Massachusetts) and Fitzwater Engineering (Rhode Island). The company experienced at least 20% growth each year since its inception including years impacted by Covid slowdowns and posted 30% growth in 2023.
He told the Radio Entrepreneurs interviewer that he attributes the company’s continued growth to innovations in automation and robotics, plus a larger number of orders from the U.S. military for products. In 2023 he brought on two very sophisticated pieces of equipment to allow the company to perform “lights out” manufacturing, meaning that the machines can produce and inspect products without the need for human intervention.
2023 was the year that PDE on-boarded its HAAS VF2SS state of the art machine which enables autonomous manufacturing, meaning that it can run unattended overnight and produce high-precision parts. That innovation was followed later in the year with the introduction of the DN Solutions 2600M, an advanced, mill-turn device that is fully automated. Between the HAAS and DN 1600M, the company invested nearly $400,000 in automation and equipment upgrades. PDE is one of a very few manufacturing facilities in Massachusetts with this degree of upgrade/

“I am grateful to Jeffrey Davis and the Radio Entrepreneurs team for the chance to tell our story,” said Gerace, who added, “And I thank them for all they do to help tell the story of small business here in Massachusetts and beyond.”
