WE CAN Names Three To Board Of Directors

WE CAN has named three new members to its board of directors.

They are: Pallavi Verma, Quality & Risk Lead for Accenture in North America; Cecilia Phelan Stiles, Senior Manager of HR Communication Systems for Cape Cod Healthcare and Daniel Geffken, co-founder and Managing Director of Danforth Advisors. 

WE CAN board memberWith over 30 years of consulting experience, Verma is responsible for working with Accenture’s clients and client teams to solve business problems and innovate for clients by driving quality programs across all businesses and industries, while also managing the risk profile of the overall business. In addition, she serves as the Boston Office Managing Director, leading a 1,700-employee office and generating revenue growth across all business offerings. As the Executive Sponsor for Accenture’s Apprentice program, she is passionate about providing equal opportunities for a broader-based set of talent, including those that do not have four-year degrees.  She also serves as the Executive sponsor for the Women’s Executive Leadership program at Accenture for senior women leaders in North America.   Pallavi is honored to serve on the board of WE CAN as it combines her passion for helping women and for finding opportunities for people that would not have otherwise had them. 

WE CAN Board memberBorn and raised in Latin America, Phelan Stiles has been leading the implementation of language access solutions for the Cape Cod community over the last 22 years. Beyond the daily direction of department operations and financial planning at Cape Cod Healthcare, Phelan Stiles has initiated educational seminars on diversity training and designed and implemented solutions to reduce cultural and linguistic barriers across two community hospitals and seven, other entities at Cape Cod Healthcare, school systems and more.  She personally has used WE CAN’s services for her mother and other Hispanic members of the community and experienced firsthand the organization’s amazing work. She strongly believes in their mission of empowering and helping women grow and succeed in any stage of their lives.

WE CAN board memberGeffken has enjoyed a career in life sciences for over 30 years. He is co-founder and Managing Director of Danforth Advisors, a financial, operations and communications consulting firm serving the life science industry. He specializes in strategy and fundraising for emerging growth companies, whereby raising capital is fundamental to developing groundbreaking therapeutics. His clients are mostly start-ups with limited cash resources. From Connecticut, he currently splits his time between Cambridge, Delray Beach, Fla., and Chatham.

The three new members will round out WE CAN’s active Board of Directors, consisting of 16 individuals whose diverse talents, connections, and enthusiasm complement each other and bring depth to the organization. The group provides strategic direction, long-term planning and high-level decision-making for WE CAN.

WE CAN empowers and supports Cape Cod women to build pathways to stability and self-sufficiency.  WE CAN provides one-to-one consultations, group workshops, and other unique programs designed to help women as they navigate challenges and opportunities in their lives.
