WE CAN Offers Two Workshops In March Geared To Women

Filed Under: More News, Non Profit News

March is National Women’s History Month, acknowledging the contributions women have made  and to recognize and applaud the remarkable women of the past, present, and future.

One local organization that has been supporting women for more than 20 years is WE CAN (Women’s Empowerment through Cape Area Networking). Founded in 2001, the nonprofit (with locations in Harwich Port and Hyannis) works to empower Cape Cod women by providing unique services that inspire hope and bring increased stability, self-sufficiency and opportunity to their lives. WE CAN serves more than 2,400 women each year across Cape Cod with free and confidential legal services, employment and business support, financial empowerment, mentoring, and personal development programs.

Here are two upcoming programs:

Everything Women Want to Know about Family Law but Are Afraid to Ask, Wednesday, March 15, 10 a.m.-noon. This virtual workshop (free) will cover custody, support, and divorce, as well as providing an overview of key legal terms. Time will be set aside for Q & A. Facilitated by WE CAN volunteer Muska Yousuf. To register: call 508-430-8111 or email wanda@wecancenter.org

“Mind Over Money,”   Tuesday, March 28, 5:30-7 p.m., Hyannis WE CAN office. This free workshop will cover why money so often intimidates us, and how you can change your relationship with money and take control of your finances. Through exercises, participants will decipher what money means to them, in order to feel control over money – and not the other way around. Time will be set aside for Q & A. Facilitated by WE CAN volunteer Nicole Norkevicius. learn more: call 508-430-8111 or email wanda@wecancenter.org
