WEYMOUTH, ROCKLAND, MA ISSUED OCTOBER 17, 2024… The Weymouth Food Pantry will hold its annual Halloween Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, October 26th from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. at Tufts Library, 46 Broad Street in Weymouth. The organization’s principal fundraising event helps to support its mission to end hunger in Weymouth.

A free Kids Hunt will kick-off the event; children aged 8 and under are welcome and Halloween costumes are encouraged but not required. In addition to a scavenger hunt around the library, young ones will also enjoy Halloween crafts, face painting, and prizes from the treasure chest.

Teams of two or four people aged 10 and older can sign up for the hunt at a cost of $20 per person. To register please visit  https://secure.qgiv.com/event/wwsh2024/

As in years past, roughly 150 spooky challenges around the town of Weymouth will guide teams through ghostly stories and tales of folklore. Teams will race the clock to seek out items, places, and sponsor locations while scoring points.  An interactive phone-based hunt app can be downloaded on an Apple or Android device and allows teams to track their hunting efforts through a live leaderboard.

Prizes for highest point totals, most funds raised, best team costumes, and funniest submitted video will be awarded. The Weymouth Food Pantry is counting on local and surrounding businesses and organizations to support the fun, engaging community event. For more information on sponsorship opportunities, please visit https://secure.qgiv.com/event/wwsh2024/store/ or email Jen O’Brien @jennifer@weymouthfoodpantry.org.

“The Halloween Scavenger Hunt is a great opportunity for families, friends, or teammates to spend an afternoon together enjoying some spooky fun. I promise you will learn things about our town you never knew, while helping a worthy cause,” said Pamela Denholm, executive director of the Weymouth Food Pantry. “It’s a ton of fun!”
